“Casual Living” features the less formal and more relaxed lifestyles of our customers.
These collections typify the way people live using their furniture everyday. It is not just
for show. It’s for living. These “Casual Living” collections highlight living rooms, great
rooms, dining rooms, home office, home theater rooms and bedrooms. These rooms
blend together to create a relaxed casual lifestyle feeling.
These collections present home furnishings from many of the best Name Brands
available. Now they are displayed by style to create a complete look for the
customer’s home. The accents and accessories are matched to create beautiful
home environments.
Morris has included many casual style categories into the “Casual Living”
showroom. Today these range from Cottage, Lodge, Arts and Crafts, Urban Loft and
Contemporary. As fashion styles change, this showroom will also change.
“Cottage” fashion features the tranquil side of nature with colors ranging from
moss green, yellow, apple, blues, white to apricot. This is one style where the saying
“less is more” does not apply. Cottage décor includes a full mix of flowers, checks,
solids and small prints blending together.
“Arts and Crafts” and “Lodge” use natural materials such as oak influenced
by American craftsman such as Stickley, Green and Green, and William Morris to
create a relaxed comfortable lifestyle. Using art glass accents in lighting and furniture
with plant motifs creates a look that compliments the nature and outdoors.
The “Contemporary’ style is soft, curved or very clean. Colors can range from soft
creams, soft grays and pastels to bold black and white, purple and red. Wood, glass,
metal and stone can be mixed to give an eclectic look. This is one area where “less
is more”.
“Urban Loft” style transforms open spaces into exciting living areas. The seating area is
in the dining area that opens to the bedroom and is open to the kitchen making small
areas fun and functional.
