The mission of the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio is to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences; and to prevent, control, and cure epilepsy through research, education, advocacy and services.
The Epilepsy Foundation has served the residents and communities of the following 11 counties since 1974: Auglaize, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Logan, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby. There are an estimated 19,000 people with epilepsy in our service area alone.
One person in every 100 has epilepsy and one person out of every 10 will have a seizure in their lifetime.
The Epilepsy Foundation is one of 52 epilepsy affiliates across the country. They are a member of the National Epilepsy Foundation but are independently incorporated. They are also a United Way Partner agency.
